im such a fucking dirty hippy it disgusts me...

well, its been a week or so since i posted to this thing that im sure no one reads now. even amy, my one lone fan has abandoned her neato blog thing.

well, i will troop on.

(for those of you who have never been to a hippy show, skip the rest of this, you wont understand anything)

i was at Widespread Panic this weekend up at Red Rocks. the shows were great, which i wasn't necisarilly expecting, but definately welcomed. i went up and sold food with my dog on the second night since i didnt have a ticket. me and kelly wrapped burritos for about three hours before the show, in total about 35 bucks worth of supplies.

made it up to the parking lot around 3 and started selling food like a madman. in total about 160 someodd dollars from three hours of half-assed walking around/drinking imported beer while selling to the people that were too scared to buy from the dirty hippies.

see, panic shows are funny outside. it has its draw of your stereotypical 'secret stoner' souther frat-boy due to their origins in the south. because of this, and the fact that they released an amazing live album recorded at red rocks (not to mention red rocks just kicks ass, for those of you who have never been, come out) makes it a hot ticket. well, these are the type of kids that start bar fights with "dudes" for lookin at their "chick" wrong in their regulaer setting of[insert popular frat bar name of southern college town]. but in this setting they get a bit freaked out, and tend to stick together in groups tailgating on the back of their tahoes and suburbans.

This is balanced out by your usual hippy dippies.

of course there are the highschool age stoners, happy to get away from mom and dad for an entire day and night and spend their lawn-mowing money on paper thin lot t-shirts, bunk acid and beer, sweet sweet underage purchased beer. this usually leads to one or two of their group vomiting up all over the stair railing on the north side of the ampitheater down into the gulley where the rush of stale beer water comes pouring from all the vendors up top at the end of the show.

the fratboy fans (FBFs) will interact with the highschool age stoners, but usually in some mocking way, ridiculing their tye dyes or hippy tendancies.

then you have the typical colorado music loving hippies. these people love just bieng out and enjoying the show, usually in their chacos and wardrobe purchased exclusively at REI or EMS (including me with my EMS raincoat). They hang out behind their car, turning down vendors slanging beers, molly, mushrooms, headies, goo balls, t shirts, free fruit (hopefully not laced with anything, but they seemed like a nice couple...), glass pipes, sage, free hugs, ticket scalpers, ticket seekers, water sellers, you name it because they came prepared. nothing like seeing a show in your own backyard.

the FBFs get along with these types alright. as long as politics is not brought up. but again, anyone without a side swooping haircut (thats a bit hard to explain, think donald trump) or a [insert white cap with southern college] cap on is definately not one of their own.

As i walked around selling burritos, dipping into the vendor world for an afternoon, i saw all different kinds of people in different degrees of bieng what one could consider the tour rats. These are the people that the FBFs avoid because, i think, the crazy liberal hippies scare and entice them and they are worried they might not look cool for their friends hanging with them. of course they will talk to the tour rat/vendors, and usually in a polite, but dismissing, manner. oh, no thanks brah, were all set here, maybe after the show...

the vendors are usually cool people, some are pretty dirty sketchy people. i wondered about a few of the guys i saw, like, where do they go when there isn't a band worth following on tour? most looked like the guy i give a cheeseburger to out in front of Metro on Colfax every once in a while. Selling items from legit to very non legit. these peole make their way following the band (or in the case of some, many bands) around the country. some do it strictly for profit, some do it to earn money for the next show. i was doing a bit of both. I had decided that i wasnt going into the show, i had disco with me and i wasnt going to leave her in the car, but i was going to the next night and had gone the night before, yet i live here... oh well, i fed the masses.

Then you have your serious tour rats. you have the ones that are selling things for cash, and looking for a ticket while doing so. mostly guys, grubby skate shoes or worn out, chunky, full-foot sandalls from tj max. They mostly hang out in the upper part of the lots, where everyone else has to filter thru to get to the venue on the hill above asking for kick-downs of everything from cigarettes to tickets to hits of x and everything in between. It doesn't matter what band is touring or playing, these people are there because its the heady thing to do, brah. I'm not bashing dreadlocks, i think they rock and know plenty of kids with dreadies. but these are the ones that give people with dreadlocks the easy tag of 'burnt out stoners'. covered in a red dusty film from sunburned head to dirty cut up toes. someone told me they were the wookie mafia, going from some east coast show to bonaroo to wakarusa to panic red rocks to high sierra music fest in cali, but again that was from one of the less sketchy rats, so i took it for what it was worth.

basically, everyone avoids these people at some point. either the super sketchy dudes doing and offering blow next to your girlfriends Envoy, or the guy with a head full of acid talking about some drug deal he did to get his free dose while trying to talk your buddy down on an already cheap 2 dollar fat tire.

what is this all about? I dont know, just some observations from the concert this weekend, im sure ill make sense of this later. or, i guess i don't have to. i went to two kickass concerts fifteen minutes from my house at the greatest ampitheater in the world and came away with money in my pocket. i dont need a point to this story.

why i love amy...

1. she reads my blog.

2. she comments on my blog.

3. boobies.

4. did i mention boobies?

5. she's a jew from the midwest. I feel cultured when im around her, not so 'Texas-WASPish'.

6. she can clear a bong with the best of them

7. knowledge of all things punk rock, yet she still can deal with my hippy crap.

8. she loves me even tho we go weeks without hanging out, seeing each other or even talking and still considers me her good friend.

9. she lives with people who can maybe get my ass a job.

10. she kicks ass.

i say tomato....

so, mrs. shiavo was nothing more than a blob of skin, flesh and barely functioning electrical signals.

granted her parents wanted what all parents would want in that situation, to have their child back. but the refusal to accept modern science and their insistance that it was (and still is) a coverup is insane. and even more disgusting was the conservative right wing's using them for political gain and to raise money for themselves.

the poor girl was dead years ago.

so now, the christian fundamentalists are calling it a liberal coverup. and they say us liberals have whack conspiracy theories.

how about realizing that god doesnt perform selfish miracles according to the belief system they preach and pretend to practice? They sure preach it, but heaven forbid they practice what it really means to be a christian.

hopefully now, however, her family and all involved can let it rest and try and remember her as the living, loving, eating-disorder plauged young woman she was.

I'm in the wrong business...

okay, so Paris Hilton announced today that she is going to retire from public life in two years.

"I thought it was cute to play a dumb blonde. On TV, I do it because it's funny. I consider myself a businesswoman and a brand." - Paris Hilton

does she not understand that she IS a dumb blonde? And a prostitute is a business woman, and anyone who gives up the real perception of themselves to become a BRAND deserves what she gets.

"I don't enjoy going out anymore. It's such a pain. It's everyone saying, `Let's do a deal! Can I have a picture?' I'm just, like, `These people are such losers. I can't believe I used to love doing this.'"

bitch is sick of the press and 'fake' people?!?!?? what does she think SHE is, Queen Reality? but at least she can admit that she was (and still is) a loser and lives in a world of fake people who build her up to make a buck.

her marraige will fail in a sex tape leaked scandall and she will forever be known as america's favorite dumb whore.

must keep going...

okay,

another day, another blog.

i think i'll just post some song lyrics by the great bob marley.

Excuse me while I light my spliff (spliff)
Good God, I gotta take a lift: from reality I just can't drift
That's why I am staying with this riff.

Take it easy
Lord, I take it easy!
See, we're takin' it easy (ooh-wah-da da-da)
We taking it slow, Takin' it easy
Got to take it slow

Tell you what, herb for my wine;
Honey for my strong drink;
I shake it easy (takin' it easy);
Skanky, take it easy (skankin' it slow);
Take it easy

once apon a time in Telluride...

Its hot here, i need to get up to the mountains to hang out, i think i'll do that tomorow afternoon. im sitting in the dark with the air conditioner blasting, trying to get through the hottest part of the day without my dog whining to take her out. my plan is to keep her asleep untill its dark then sick her loose on unsuspecting squirrels.

anyway, in the spirit of keeping this damn thing going i thought i would make a post today, i know its worthless, full of mindless information, but you read it anyway.

whoever you may be.

i leave you with a story from some old man named Trey about another old man named Jon one night in Telluride in the late 80's

"...you leave the town, and walk toward the mountain in the distance. assume that you'll be back by 10 oclock. walk farther into the distance, naively thinking that you can climb the mountain. climb the mountain before you. Pay no heed when your two friends each eat a hit of acid. walk over the moutain and decide that you'll cut back the long way by the cabin. Climb down towards the beautiful valley below with the pretty flowers growing everywhere. 0H NO! realize theres a 2000 foot cliff in front of you. start to SHIT YOUR PANTS as the sun goes down! decide its time that you too should eat a hit of acid. Turn around and realize that you have to climb ALL THE WAY BACK UP THE MOUNTAIN! start climbing up the mountain, BUT WAIT ITS TOO DARK AND YOU MIGHT FALL! REALIZE THE OTHER THREE MEMBERS OF THE BAND ARE MAKING ABSOLUTE FOOLS OF THEMSELVES PLAYING A JAZZ ODYSSEY! finally make it to the top of the mountain and realize that you HAVE TO BE BACK AT THE BAR IN THE NEXT TEN MINUTES! And realize theres only one thing left that you can do...

you gotta run like an antelope out of controll. "

are we really this fucking dumb?

http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/06/07/border.crossing.ap/index.html

now, had that guy been wearing a turban im sure he would have been detained. Nothing like the ease at which you can get away with something in this country if you white.

"Being bizarre is not a reason to keep somebody out of this country or lock them up. ... We are governed by laws and regulations, and he did not violate any regulations."

ther isnt a law or at least a regulation against crossing an international boarder covered in blood and carrying weapons you want to bring into another country (that are also covered in blood)? what the hell kinda security DO we have?

seems like its reason enough to hold someone for a day to me.

about the post below...

i swore i would never get political on this blog, but this is just retarded. taking real medicine away from people because no one can make money off of it. Our billion dollar pharmaceutical industry makes this quite clear, why else are there commercials for PRESCRIPTION drugs on television?

okay, ending transmission and all political thought.

tomorow: lesbian nazi hookers abducted by UFOs and forced into weight loss programs. (ie. more of the same old useless observations from you'rs truly.)

let em smoke some f'ing pot!

http://www.denverpost.com/nationworld/ci_2782184

okay,

didnt republicans used to be about state rights?

"Under the Constitution, Congress may pass laws regulating a state's economic activity so long as it involves "interstate commerce" that crosses state borders. The California marijuana in question was homegrown, distributed to patients without charge and without crossing state lines."

You would never see regulations like this about guns, and they are used to kill people for chrissakes!

Let people grow a fucking plant people, especially if it helps them with a disabilitating disease. The example of the california grow houses that never ship out of california and do not sell the marijuana but distribute it, they are kept up by donations by people caring enough to realize that medicine comes in many forms.

why can't people realize that not everyone is the same and this country was founded because people had different opinions and viewpoints than the ruling class and came here to avoid that (slaughtering the native people in the process, forming 'american' ideals from the get go. but thats another topic entirely).

This administration oversteps its bounds daily and this country eats it up in the name of Jesus and George Bush.

-b

"[Justice Sandra Day] O'Connor said she would have opposed California's medical marijuana law if she was a voter or a legislator. But she said the court was overreaching to endorse "making it a federal crime to grow small amounts of marijuana in one's own home for one's own medicinal use."

BUG! it doesn't matter to me.

i find this fitting somehow:

....even if you are playing in the nba finals and winning by five points, it doesn't do any good if you didnt start with one special thing. just remember at those times that you had damn well had read the fucking book. you know what im talking about?
I dont care who you are, you could be kareem, hakeem, shaleeem... any of those people! but you;d better read the book.
you are too good for the BOOK?!
you think you can go through life without reading the book. you think you can just float around and do all those things that you do, y'know, floating around doing this kinda thing, doing that kinda thing, but you are nothing without reading the book. NOTHING. you are nothing. but if you could read the book, your life will be different, it will have meaning..you'll know.
you gotta read the book.
read
the
book.
read it.
cuz you know who wrote the book? it wasnt just any old person that wrote the book, that you are probably gonna read. when you read it you will understand the deep, uderlying meaning of how you can save your life. save. your. life. SAVE IT! you might THINK that your life is okay, that you're just fine... but you're wrong. YOU ARE WRONG. you are all wrong. UNTILL YOU READ THE BOOK. read it. READ THE FUCKING BOOK.
save your life.
read the book.
because the book is written by the great and knowledgeable icculus.

droppin' houses on all you square-heads...

Well shit...

No one reads this. Why do I post? I hate blogs.

Yesterday it rained here so hard I thought my roof would cave in. Haven't been in a storm like that in years. I would have to say that's the first time I've heard tornado sirens over the pounding rain out here on the south side of Denver. I was hoping a tornado would come take me and my little dog to Oz. Once there I would then become the ruler of the munchkins, threatening to drop houses on all their asses if they dont obey me and do my bidding for me. We would take over those poppy fields, process that shit and make millions off of perfectly processed black tar heroin. Of course, I would keep the munchkins in poverty, and in a very Vonnegut type of way, I would force a false religion on them, make it illegal to practice and threaten death to those that do. This will be the only ray of hope in the munchkin world. Eventually we would begin melting down the yellow brick road, selling the gold to western countries for electrical wiring purposes. The yellow brick road would then be paved over with highway grade asphalt and the bodies of the munchkins who die working on this monumental feat of roadbuilding will be chopped up and mixed in with the gravel, melted tires and tar...

But, a tornado didn't come. My dog got freaked out by the thunder and lightning, and I left my back windows down on my jeep. so much for becoming a drug kingpin.

And so it starts...

i hate blogs. i think of them mostly as 'keywords' for republicans and something that news organizations are looking at more and more as viable sources of information.

and now i have one.

we'll see how this goes...
